I'm blogging from home, on my son's computer, which, by the way...he takes very good care of. Keeps it "cleaned out" and dumps any unnecessary things allowing it to run better and faster than most computers of its age. He's in the process of researching the parts he will buy one by one to build his own. That's all I know about that. It's another one of those conversations with him where I listen, nod, smile, and say, "that's neat, honey." or "very cool". In other words, Mom doesn't have a clue what you just said but goodness! you're smart.

My Ashley started a job last week. And yes, I cried her first day of work. We have some very cool folks who have recently come to College (church) that own a coffee hang out. It's one of the neatest coffee places I've ever seen. Funky but not scary...Hip but not too young for the retired to stroll in for a cup...and, Christian! Yippee! Ashley really couldn't have asked for a better place to "get her feet wet" in the job world. I'm thrilled for her. Further independence...hhmmm...hard to take as a parent, and yet, very exciting and the way it should be.

Services this morning were good. We still don't have air conditioning, but this should be the last Sunday we deal with that. We hope so, because the temps are supposed to hit 100+ a few days next week which will make for a nasty, stinky, hot, auditorium by Sunday. We'll pray the folks can get it fixed this week.

We had a taped video interview with one of our older, very wise members. Talked about Psalm 147, specifically the first three verses focusing on God healing the brokenhearted and binding up their wounds. Wes Schmidt has had some big things in his life that may have knocked the average man around, however, he's come out of them faithful and stronger. It was a blessing to listen to him...kind of like 2 Timothy where Paul has some "fatherly advice". Some people have just earned the right to be heard...

My new computer should be here next Friday. But until then, I'll use Avery's.

Blessings...
